Dr. Miko Flasik grew up in Houston, Texas but has spent the past 8 years in Colorado. She recently received her DVM from Colorado State University and is excited to be joining the Rau team! She has a passion for client communications and diversity and social justice and hopes to use these passions to provide high quality pet care to her patients and their people. Outside of medicine, Dr. Flasik volunteers as a victims’ advocate for a women’s crisis center and enjoys being a foodie and does salsa dancing in her free time.

Tasha has worked as a CVT at Rau Animal Hospital for 14 years as an O.R/Anesthesia technician. Tasha is a certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner, and together with the ICAPM, created the Pet Pain Awareness campaign which has designated September as the month for animal pain awareness and prevention. She is also a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anestesia. 

Tasha is also the creator and administrator of the Facebook group Veterinary Anesthesia Nerds which has over 20,000 members and helps to educate veterinary professionals on various anestesia and pain management topics. She also has a new web based video series entitiled "Coffee on the Couch" produced in partnership with DVM360 looking at technician utilization and career advancement.

Vickie Byard, CVT, VTS (Dentistry) is a certified veterinary technician with over 30 years of experience.  She enjoys a diversified and exciting career.  Vickie has worked at Rau Animal Hospital in Glenside, PA since 1985. She has been an adjunct instructor in the Manor College Veterinary Technology program; she is contracted to provide in-house training experiences, she was a member of the Bayer Technician Advisory Council, and she has authored numerous articles and has contributed chapters for veterinary technology books.  Vickie Byard is a past-president of the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians and was delighted to be chosen as the 2010 Veterinary Technician of the Year for the state of Pennsylvania. Currently and the esteemed honor of being chosen as NAVTA’s Vet Tech of the Year for 2013.  Currently, Vickie is the President and Founder of PetED™ Veterinary Education and Training Resources.
